Listing rules & methodology
A useful directory needs clear sources, consistent rules and a way to correct mistakes.
Free submissions, human approval
Companies providing virtual assistant services can submit a listing for free after verifying an email address. An email-verified account does not by itself prove company ownership. We review every submission for relevance, duplicate websites and spam. Pending and rejected submissions are not public. Approval publishes the listing automatically.
Review and follow-up
Website submissions and email applications enter a private review process. AI helps assess relevance, gaps and consistency using submitted details and accessible public company pages. An administrator confirms publication. Decision emails explain any missing details and link to a workspace where submitters can add information and public sources. AI suggestions and inaccessible pages are not proof of service quality or compliance.
Two kinds of information
Source-based records contain information collected from public company pages. Individual facts may carry a quotation, source URL and check date. A source check confirms what the page said, not whether every claim is true.
Community listings contain information supplied through our form. They are labelled as submitted information. Approval is a review for directory inclusion; it is not an independent verification of pricing, qualifications or service quality.
What the badges mean
- Verified from source: a quotation matched an archived source page.
- Company-stated: a claim made by the company, not a certification by VA Index.
- Not recorded: the source record has no recorded value; consult the listed pages and check date. This does not prove the information is unavailable elsewhere.
- Not provided: the submitter did not supply this information.
Ordering and future sponsored placements
The default order puts companies with more information first; ties are broken alphabetically. For source-based records, we count the existing disclosed fields, plus a description and services when present. For community listings, we count a description, services, location and price text. This is an information-completeness measure, not a service-quality score. You can also sort by company name.
All listings are currently free. We may introduce paid placement at the top of relevant directories. Those placements will be clearly labelled Sponsored, separate from ordinary ranking. Paid promotion is not available in this version. Payment will not bypass review, alter factual verification or prevent correction and removal.
Source collection
Our collection pipeline uses public business pages and identifies itself as VAIndexBot. It respects robots.txt and does not bypass login walls or access restrictions. We retain source snapshots to support checks. Failed access is not evidence that a company has no information.
Company claims
We do not audit or certify companies. Compliance wording, credentials and agreements should be confirmed directly with the provider and an appropriate adviser before use.
Corrections and updates
Information may become outdated. Source records show the date they were checked; we do not promise every record is refreshed monthly. Email hello@vaindex.com with the listing and source link to report a correction.
Removal
A company can request removal free of charge through Contact. Approved community listings can be unpublished by an administrator. We retain only the operational records needed to process requests and prevent abuse, subject to the privacy notice.
